This portfolio is designed to help students understand short story elements such as plot, conflict, and theme using the story Laskar Pelangi.


Part 1: Visual Narrative Map (Plot Structure)

PLOT STRUCTURE – LASKAR PELANGIo

Exposition:

Ikal and his friends study in a small and poor school in Belitung that is almost closed due to lack of students.

Rising Action:

They face many challenges such as poverty, limited facilities, and difficulties in learning, but they stay motivated.

Climax:

They win a quiz competition against a prestigious school, proving their intelligence and determination.

Falling Action:

After the competition, they gain confidence and continue their studies with enthusiasm.

Resolution:

The story ends with hope, showing that education can change their future.


Part 2: Conflict Workshop

Types of Conflict

Internal Conflict (Man vs. Self):

Ikal feels worried about his future

He sometimes doubts his ability
